Samuel L. Pepys was a highly regarded member of court and government in 17th Century London. He rose to become Secretary of The Admiralty, and even did some time up the bih house for alleged complicity in a plot to whack the Pope, surviving to become president of The Royal Society. A bad motherfucker, Pepys’ diaries have supplied historians with word on what shit went down with the highlife and lowlife of the capital in turbulent times – the plague, the great Fire, the dope drought of ’59 – all are documented in his faithful journal, giving us a true flavour of the situation around being a Society brother in the big bad city. Hoever, it wasn’t all whores with sores and crap floating in the damn street. There was some fine pussy and grade A shit to be located if a brother kept himself on the good foot and looked after his moves.
