Hacker Group Exploits Security Hole In Tumblr

3 December 2012 No Comment

This morning a hacker group called the GNAA created a worm that sent racist spam throughout all of the blogging network.

It seems like the first blog to go down this morning belonged to The Daily Dot, who are still sending out infected messages. The messages their sending have a GNAA signature, which is a very racist and inflammatory group of hackers and online vandals.

The Gay Nigger Association of America (GNAA) is an anti-blogging Internet-trolling organization. They have trolled several prominent websites and Internet personalities including Slashdot, Wikipedia, CNN, Barack Obama’s campaign website, Alex Jones, and prominent members of the blogosphere. They have also released software products and leaked screenshots and information about upcoming operating systems. In addition, they maintain a wiki-based site dedicated to Internet commentary and a software repository.

If your blog becomes infected go to your blog’s Mega-Editor and mass delete the posts. Also, change your password. The blast of messages usually only lasts 10 minutes or so. BuzzFeed has reached out to tumblr for comment.
